Indian Power Conditioning Equipment strength is that products are manufactured as per Indian condition as against globally manufactured product. For example UPS systems manufactured globally @ 40 Deg. C with backup time of not more than 10 – 15 minutes.
Q10) Please highlight Global perspective of power electronic industry and what is the differentiating factor?
Indian industry has very high potential for making presence felt globally. But the main hindrance is Govt. policies. We depend on imports of the electronic component and it is difficult to match the prices after importing the components. For example – in China, majority of the international components are manufactured and the prices in China are lower as compared to India. So to be competitive, Govt. has to make the policies for duty free imports of components.
Q11) According to you what is the forecast for the Indian power industry?
Indian power industry will grow at a healthy speed of more than 20% every year reason being that now UPS systems are being used not only for IT sector, but also in Health Care, Hospitals, Textile, etc.
