Lapp India adopts lean manufacturing initiative
Lapp India, a wholly owned subsidiary of German based Lapp Group is implementing Lean Methodology across its operations in India, as a part of the global initiative taken by the parent company to enhance efficiency of operations in all its manufacturing plants and sales organisations of which India is a significant contributor. Referred to as the Lapp Operation System (LOS) in the organization, Lean Methodology will enable the enterprises to generate products and services for the customers within shortest time, by eliminating redundant activities involved in manufacturing and support functions. As the result of this activity, Lapp India has projected to witness upto 30% reduction in overall inventory and thereby a substantial reduction in overall operating expenses.

Commenting on the new initiative of Lapp Operation System (LOS) in the India head-office, Bangalore, Mr. Srinivas P Kamisetty, Managing Director, Lapp India, Pvt Ltd stated that, “Lapp Operation System (LOS) will definitely give us a cutting edge by enhancing the quality and efficiency, creating a win-win situation for both-the internal and external stakeholders involved.” Besides training the senior management in Lean Methodology practices in Germany, Mr. Srinivas P Kamisetty is also excited about the future strategies the organization has in place for the developing this practice, “We are building full-fledged training area called ‘Lean House’ for all the training and deployment activities and will also be doing two-day Lean training for all Lapp India Employees.” He further added that, “We will completely transform the way we manage our production, view our business, work environment and change our culture to a performing one.”
