Hikvision protects Ministry of Commerce (MOC) Thailand

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of Thailand plays an important role in developing and managing fair trade and competition in Thailand. In particular, they are in charge of trade, consumer protection, intellectual property protection and entrepreneurship. MOC wanted to create a secure environment that would contribute to the safety of employees and assets in the building. Therefore, establishing a highly stable surveillance system for 24/7 monitoring was needed. Additionally, MOC needed to save video footage going back two calendar months. This meant that a robust surveillance and storage solution had to be found.

Hikvision

Solution
A number of corporations in the security industry were eager to be involved in the MOC project. However, Hikvision, the leading digital surveillance products supplier, was chosen to provide its high performance DVRs and color cameras to protect the MOC. Over 150 DS-2CC592P color dome cameras and 10 DS-7016HI-S network DVRs were installed on every floor of the building.

With the most advanced H.264 video codec, the 16-channel network DVR DS-7016HI-S offers real-time viewing and playback in CIF resolution. This product supports up to 4 SATA hard drives with each up to 2TB, allowing video data storage for over 60 days. This enables security staff to review footage to assess specific incidents if necessary. In addition, with main and auxiliary video output, the DS-7016HI-S supports menu operation and video preview (through auxiliary video output) on a separate screen simultaneously.

The DS-2CC592P color dome camera offers outstanding images using a 1/3 inch Sony super HAD CCD image sensor. Moreover, the camera features auto color and B/W switch in horizontal resolution of 540 TVL (752x582), ensuring high image quality for 24/7 monitoring. Given the great number of people who walk in and out of the ministry building daily, there was a significant requirement to secure the location, especially the corridors, emergency exits or elevators where there is a sharp illumination contrast. Featuring back light compensation and auto white balance, the DS-2CC592P is fully matched with the requirements of MOC to capture clear images in various lighting conditions, enabling security staff to effectively monitor employees and visitors in the building.

Somchai Prajaksoot, manager of Digital Focus, which is the system integrator of this MOC project, said: “The reliable products Hikvision provided help our security staff to secure everything projected in MOC building. If an incident takes place, the security staff can find the offender through the video footages with high-quality image.”
