In the backdrop of some of the tragic fire mishaps occurred in the country recently, the two organizations joined hands for this unique initiative to create awareness and educate people in and around the industry to promote the usage of eco friendly, superior connectivity solutions to mitigate fire hazards.

Taking about the initiative, Mr. Venus Wani, Chairman-Seminar & Event at NIMA of NIMA said that, “In the last 6-8 years industrial development in our region has picked up the speed. We have around 174 medium and large industrial units employing over 75000 people and we believe that the safety of all them should be our utmost priority. This initiative is one more attempt from our end in that direction, given LAPP’s leadership and global experience in the connectivity solutions”Speaking at the event, Mr. Muralidhar Rao, Assistant General Manager from LAPP INDIA said “The frequency of fire accidents due to electrical short-circuit is exponentially increasing in the country. Fire accidents caused by short-circuit are primarily due to the usage of poor quality of insulation material being used and Halogen free cables are most suitable in such environments. At LAPP INDIA, our idea is to advocate usage of environment friendly wires and cables that will prevent/minimise such tragedies.” LAPP is responsive towards the noble notion and has developed a range of halogen-free products.

Halogen free wire and cables are special materials used for insulation and outer jacketing of wires and cables. LAPP INDIA has wide range of products and some of the cables and accessories are - ÖLFLEX® - Power cables, UNITRONIC® - Control Cables, HITRONIC® - Fibre Optic Cables, SKINTOP® - Cable Glands, SILVYN®- Cable Conduits, EPIC® - Industrial Connectors, FLEXIMARK® - Marking Systems, & ETHERLINE® - Ethernet Cables. Whether it is for building/ construction services, industrial machinery or underground transportation systems, LAPP INDIA provides and advocates usage of low smoke zero halogen & fire retardant products.
