Veronafiere joins hand with lotus exhibitons and marketing services

Veronafiere in partnership with Lotus Exhibitions and Marketing Services (Lems) recently introduced Veronafiere Lems India Private Limited, the first Indian company owned by an Italian exhibition organiser. The Verona Exhibition Authority upgrades direct promotion tools for the Italian company system in India, one of the most important markets for “Made in Italy” with enormous potential for development. The company, of which 51% is held by VeronaFiere, aims to organise and promote exhibition events, conventions, b2b workshops and all other initiatives ensuring effective support for Italian companies and institutions in a geo-economic area that boasts a middle class of 300 million people (out of 1 billion inhabitants, a sixth of the world population) and a GDP growing at an average annual rate of 8.5%.

Priority will be given to promotion in sectors where VeronaFiere organises leading events on an international scale: Vinitaly, Agrifood and Sol (food); Marmomacc (marble-natural stone); Abitare il Tempo (quality furnishing); Samoter (construction, earth moving, building and site machinery); Fieragricola (production systems for agriculture and animal farming); Siab, Eurocarne, Acquacoltura (food technologies); Progetto Fuoco, Bionergy World, Solarexpo, Greenbuilding and Re-Energy (renewable energy, from photovoltaic systems to bio-masses).

“The Indian exhibition market is growing a annual rates of 50% and turnover is currently estimated at 100 million dollars,” said Ettore Riello, President of VeronaFiere. “Direct involvement in this area means expanding the boundaries of our activity, exporting our know as organisers and creating a virtuous circle for trade between Italy and India. India has many affinities with Italy from the point of view of industrial structure, since there are 13 million small-medium businesses representing 80% of companies in India as a whole providing work for 41 million people and making a substantial contribution to the wealth of the country. A network of companies that often needs types of finished or semi-finished products in various sectors that Italian companies can broadly satisfy.”

“VeronaFiere has already organised initiatives in India for some time, such as the Vinitaly World Tour in New Delhi and Mumbay, and has acquired other experiences in the recent past through collaboration with other international exhibition partners in the constructions and marble sector,” emphasised Giovanni Mantovani, Director General of VeronaFiere. “Thanks to the creation of our own company, we now boast a instrument that is unique in the European exhibition panorama and strengthen our role as direct organisers of events even abroad.”

There are many opportunities for collaboration between the Italian and Indian entrepreneurial systems, as Rajiv Malhotra explains: “Central government, through the Ministry dedicated to small-medium enterprise, ensures every support for joint ventures between small-medium businesses. There are many forms of finance, even by regional governments, to enhance the development of certain sectors and international collaboration. Moreover, there is major interest in Italian machinery, technology and products, particularly in the marble-natural stone, earth moving and site-building, agricultural and wine and food fields.”
